Some of the specs of the next Samsung Omnia, Omnia II have leaked. Its said that the upcoming touchscreen flagship will be called the GT-I8000. The Omnia 2 was leaked by a Lithuanian on-line retailer, which has now removed its embarrassing leakage.

Unconfirmed specs revealed so far includes a 3.7-inch WVGA TFT resistive touchscreen display, 8.1 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and VGA@30fps video recording, 150 MB internal memory, a Qualcomm processor and a microSD card slot. The connectivity includes all you may need as usual including 3G support, Bluetooth, miniUSB, GPS and Wi-Fi.

It’s looking good - Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 leaked

The next Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 smartphone, the X2 looks to have been leaked and pictured ahead of schedule. While pictures which were revealed earlier in the week didn’t seem as convincing and lacked in quality, the new ones revealed below provide higher definition. They also show that the Xperia X2 looks to be running Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, 3G and HSDPA are fairly standard functions.

Though I must say I am glad to see the X2 with a more attractive design, more in sync with our modern era, you will most definitely have notice its gotten rid of those pyramid-like triangular shaped keys which just didn’t do its design much good. Our mobile expert friends at dialaphone thinks the most likely memory card the X2 will be equipped with is MicroSD, which is all good news!

Sony launches world’s smallest HD camera module MCB1172

Sony has announced the development of its super tiny penny-like high definition (HD) camera module. Already now entering mass production, the latest in digital technology MCB1172 8.3-megapixel camera module is astonishingly small, smaller than a £1 coin measuring in at just 9.5 x 7.1 mm. Likely to turn up in a range of products later this year, the potential for Sony’s future products to have HD recording capability is overwhelming.

The MCB1172 from Sony Europe’s Image Sensing Solutions Division will have the ability to deliver 720p, at 30fps, it further includes movie stabilisation, face detection, autofocus and motion autofocus. There’s also a high sensitivity mode and a slow-mo function, delivering 120fps as well as the option of 16x zoom. Likely to first hit the business markets later this year, we might see the MCB1172 equipped in products such as mobile phones, camcorders and quite possibly security equippment.

Available in red, pink or black, the protective sleeve opens up to become a cushion for your laptop as well as a mouse pad.

The Artmu laptop sleeve will be available for laptops of all sizes, including 10″, 13″ and 15″, with price ranging from $15 to $20 respectively.

Black Nintendo Wii confirmed, arriving in August

Nintendo has announced that a new black version of its popular video game console Wii will be arriving in August. Those of you who have held up on buying the original white colour themed Wii for the past two years may now finally be tempted to a make purchase.

Though there won’t be any changes in terms of hardware, I must say that the black Wii as well as its black Wiimote pictured looks amazing.

Unfortunately, so far, its only been said that the all black Wii will be arriving in Japan in August. Pricing wise, in Japan the console and its accessories will cost as follows: Wii system ($260), Wii remote ($40), Wii Nunchaku ($19) and Wii classic controller ($21).

As our friends at Geeky Gadgets have pointed out, considering how popular the Wii is here in the UK we wouldn’t be surprised when Nintendo finally announces that they would have even more colours once this “colouring trend” arrives everyone else worldwide.

Review: Sony W Series NWZ-W202 Walkman MP3 Player

Since we unboxed the NWZ-W202 - one of Sony’s latest all in one portable music players, we’ve had some time to test it out. While the word “wearable” may not come across to many of you as being linked to a portable music player, indeed, the new Sony W202 is exactly that.

Design:

We don’t reckon that anyone would just by looking at Sony’s official picture (left) of the W202’s heart shape design be able to instantly think and relate that to a music player. In fact, when it was first received, the latest W Series addition actually appeared awkward to us but extremely fascinating. For those who have not yet seen our full gallery, you might like to head over to see how it works. Despite our first impression of its awkward design, once we picked up the W202, we felt it was lightweight (weighs 35g) and immediately realised how suitable it would be if one of us here at GadgetLite were actually a keen runner. There has been a trend in all-in-one music players for some time and probably one of the most notable leading brands in this field have been Oakley and their all-in-one music incorporated sunglasses. Other designs of all-in-one music players we’ve seen in the past also include iRiver’s N12, just doing a simple search would yield loads of results! Though the W202 isn’t a pair of sunglasses or a pretty necklace, what it lacks is clearly an advantage.

Available in a range of five different colours, the W202 doesn’t have earphone wires that tangle over each other and it is highly flexible and by that we mean that the position of its earphones are not fixed liked those of Oakley’s sunglasses, fitting heads of all shapes and sizes!

Sony Ericsson Aino - a PlayStation 3 orientated phone

If you’re a serious gamer, you’ve probably been feeling slightly left out all these years without a phone that properly “clicked” with what you love the most. Now all that is about to change. The latest Sony Ericsson Aino has got everything you’ve been missing in a phone.

The Aino is a slider phone with a large three inch touch enabled display screen with 16 million colours. Running a modified version of Sony Ericsson’s phone OS, do not dare to mistaken the Aino with the likes of business orientated smartphones as it is exactly the opposite.

Apart from the PS3 Remote feature, the Aino isn’t bad on specs neither. An eight megapixel camera with Sony Ericsson’s classically luxurious features such as flash, touch focus, smile and face detection. Sound output is just as good with Clear Bass and Clear Stereo technologies from Sony.

Aino will also boast A2DP Bluetooth, stereo speakers, FM radio, GPS, geo-tagging, WiFi and PlayTV option but the problem with multimedia orientated phones we’ve reviewed so far has been the lack of applications thus making them highly compromised when comparing to the likes of the iPhone and Android phones. In fact, the Aino comes with onboard Javascript based applications giving you YouTube, Facebook and Walkmate.
